Navy looks

Navy is the black she wears when she is pretending to be someone else, usually someone with a meeting. Tailoring first: a blazer, wide trousers, a coat with a proper collar. Then the occasional velvet, which in navy reads almost as midnight and works for evening. It is a colour that makes the ink look like an engraving. Autumn, winter, work-adjacent occasions, a dinner with somebody's parents. Never with black, which is the rule she breaks most.
