Cobalt one-shoulder jacquard dress with an organza ruffle

A one-shoulder midi dress in cobalt. Tiers of organza ruffle stand up from one shoulder and drop to the elbow; a drape of the same organza crosses the bodice on the diagonal, folded in layers over a satin base. From the waist down it turns to satin jacquard woven with a tonal floral pattern, cut close through the hip and falling just past the knee.

Autumn, an old apartment with peeling walls, lamps on in the afternoon and a velvet chair by the window. Black pointed pumps, hair straight and pushed back so the open shoulder shows the sleeve tattoo. Light organza up top, heavy jacquard below: the dress does the contrast so nothing else has to. Cobalt again. Apparently I like colour now. Nobody tell anyone.
