Cobalt one-shoulder mini dress with a tiered origami skirt

A cobalt mini dress with a one-shoulder bodice in micro-pleated crepe that wraps across the chest and gathers at the shoulder into a folded strap. A black velvet band marks the waist. Below it the skirt is built from stiff overlapping panels in the same cobalt, layered in three tiers like folded card, flaring out to a hem above the knee. The fabric is dense and matte, so the panels hold their angles.

It is a cocktail dress that wants a room with corners. Black slingback pumps with a pointed toe and a woven mesh front, no tights in spring and autumn, and nothing on the arms so the tattoo sleeve does the work the dress leaves undone. Dinner, a launch, a late drink somewhere with a jukebox.

Sat down once. The skirt did not. We agreed to stand.
