A floor-length gown in heavy cobalt satin. One side is cut away at the shoulder; the other carries a short puffed sleeve with a black leather panel running over the top and a leather band at the hem. The bodice is draped across the front and pinned at the waist by a wide, pointed black leather corset belt.

Below the belt the skirt is gathered and pulled up into a soft drape at one hip, so it falls in deep folds and pools at the floor. It needs space: a gallery opening, a long room with tall windows, an event where people stand rather than sit. Spring and autumn evenings, a pointed heel, hair down. The leather keeps it from being sweet.
