Cobalt balloon-sleeve blazer with a draped wool midi skirt
A cobalt wool blazer with pleated balloon sleeves over a matching skirt of folded, draped panels, with black ankle boots, in an art studio.
A cobalt felted-wool blazer with notched lapels and a single hidden closure at the waist, cut with sleeves that are pleated from the shoulder and balloon out to the elbow before narrowing into a plain cuff. The skirt is the same cobalt wool, built from panels that fold and drape over each other from a wrapped waistband, opening in places to show the layer beneath, and falling unevenly to mid-calf. Black leather ankle boots with a block heel and a side zip.
It is a suit in the sense that both halves match, and in no other sense. Autumn and winter, an opening, a dinner that is really an entrance, anywhere with enough room for the sleeves. The boots keep it on the ground; a heel would have tipped it into costume. No bag, no jewellery beyond the watch, no second colour anywhere.
Cobalt, head to ankle. Someone will tell me I look well. I look loud.

styling notes
- Blazer closed at the waist only; the sleeves need the room
- Flat ankle boot in black, never a heel with this much skirt
- Blazer worn as the top; the lapel stays clean
- Hair straight and behind the shoulders, out of the sleeves
