Navy wool peplum skirt suit with twig buttons and cut-outs
A navy felted-wool skirt suit: sculpted sleeve heads, a peplum jacket with gold twig-shaped buttons and waist cut-outs, a pencil skirt, wedge boots.
A skirt suit in navy felted wool. The jacket is fitted through the waist with a short peplum, double-breasted with two pairs of gold buttons cast like small branches, and it opens at each side of the waist in a curved cut-out. The sleeves start high and sculpted, folded and padded at the shoulder, then narrow to the wrist. The skirt is a pencil to the knee with a centre seam. Black leather ankle boots with a pointed toe and a covered wedge heel.
The suit is strict; the cut-outs and the branches are the argument against it. The lapel sits low and the jacket is the top. Hair down one side. Autumn and winter, office days that end in a gallery, a dinner where the chair matters. The wedge means you can stand through a whole opening.
Studio visits are where I test shoulders. These passed. The painter did not get a say.

styling notes
- The jacket is the top; lapel low
- Hair swept to one side so the cut-out reads
- Wedge, not stiletto, for a long evening
