Cobalt brocade blazer with pointed shoulders and a peplum
A cobalt brocade blazer with exaggerated pointed shoulders, a draped satin front and a leather peplum, worn with the matching brocade and leather pencil skirt.
A blazer in cobalt floral brocade with shoulders extended into hard points well past the arm, the kind of line that makes a doorway feel narrow. The front is a panel of plain cobalt satin, draped and gathered into the waist under one hidden fastening, with a small mesh insert at the side seam where the brocade stops. Below the waist the jacket flares into a short peplum in smooth cobalt leather. The skirt matches: brocade over the hips, a leather panel across the front, pencil-straight to the knee.
It is office tailoring for an office with a library, and dinner tailoring for anywhere with armchairs. Autumn and winter, the blazer worn as the only top layer, with a pointed black pump; a slim black boot if the library is cold. No coat fits over those shoulders, so the car waits outside.
I read in it. Mostly the room. The room reads back.
