Burgundy wool balloon-sleeve jacket with a pencil skirt
A burgundy wool jacket with vast satin-panelled balloon sleeves and a pleated peplum, over a matching pencil skirt with a satin diagonal.
A jacket in dense burgundy wool with sleeves that take up most of the frame: cut as full balloons from shoulder to wrist, with a long satin panel running down the outside of each one and a satin cuff gathering the volume at the wrist. The body is fitted, with notched lapels, a hidden fastening and a peplum folded into deep pleats over the hips. The skirt is a high-waisted pencil in the same wool, with a diagonal satin panel cut across the front and a short split at the hem.
The satin is there to catch light the wool refuses, so stand near a window. Keep the feet thin: a black sandal with a single strap, no boot. Autumn and winter, a painter's studio in the afternoon, a dinner where you need the chair to yourself.
The sleeves need their own seat. I booked it.
