Red wrap blazer with a tiered gauze skirt
A padded-shoulder red blazer with a satin wrap sash over a tiered crinkled gauze skirt, shot in a wood-panelled sleeper carriage.
A red blazer cut with padded, squared shoulders and peak lapels, closed by a satin sash that wraps the waist and drapes down one hip. The body is a matte wool crepe; the sash and the inner lapel are satin in the same red, so the jacket reads as one colour in two finishes. Under it, a tiered skirt in crinkled cotton gauze, hemmed at the knee in layers, with a side slit that opens as she walks.
Wear it as a suit substitute: the blazer does the tailoring, the gauze does the movement. It is an autumn and winter look for trains, hotel bars and long dinners, with a pointed boot or a plain sandal depending on the weather. Keep everything else red or black; a second colour would break the spell.
A sleeper carriage is the only place I will wear a blazer and a skirt that both need ironing.
