Cobalt wool coat dress with black leather lapels and panels
A fitted cobalt wool coat dress with pointed shoulders, black leather lapels and panels, and a handkerchief hem that opens at the front.
A coat dress in cobalt felted wool, fitted hard through the waist with shoulders built up to a point, and cut through with black leather: the notched lapels, a long curved panel down each side of the bodice, a triangular panel at the hip and the inner flaps of the skirt. The front closes with a single hook at the waist, and the skirt opens from there in layered handkerchief panels of wool and leather that fall to the knee at the sides and shorter at the centre.
Worn on its own, closed at the waist, leaning on a sculptor's bench with the tools on the wall behind. Autumn and winter, for an opening, a dinner or a long evening that starts in daylight. A black pointed boot or a knee boot in the cold; the watch and the small hoops and that is all.
Blue with black is as far as I go with colour this week. Possibly this year.
