A jacket in crimson leather with a high funnel collar that closes on a diagonal, seams running down the front, balloon sleeves ruched along their whole length and finished with a wide plain cuff, and a hem that drops into a point at the centre front. It is fitted through the body and closes with hidden fastenings, so nothing interrupts the leather.

Under it, a tiered skirt in red satin, three handkerchief layers from a high waist to mid-calf, each hem on its own diagonal. Autumn and winter nights, a dinner that turns into something else; the jacket does not come off, so the room has to be cold or the company good. Black pointed boot, hair back or tucked, and the collar does the work a neckline would.
