Oxblood satin blouse with a copper wrap skirt
An oxblood satin blouse with a high neck and blouson sleeves, tucked into a copper wrap skirt that catches the sun in a stone courtyard.
A blouse in oxblood satin with a high, soft funnel neck, dropped shoulders and sleeves that blouse out before they gather into a deep buttoned cuff. It is tucked into a wrap skirt in a copper satin with a crinkled surface and a metallic sheen, draped from a wide waistband, tied at the hip and left to fall in two uneven layers with a split at the front that opens from above the knee.
Two warm colours that do not match on purpose: the oxblood goes dark in the shade, the copper goes bright in the sun. Late spring and summer in old stone towns, lunch on a terrace, a walk after; a flat sandal or a low block heel, no tights, a small bag if any. In autumn, the blouse goes under a black blazer and the skirt stays home.
Satin in full sun is a decision. I stand by it, mostly in the shade.
