Burgundy crinkled satin blazer and draped wrap skirt
A cropped burgundy blazer in crinkled satin with ruched, ruffled sleeves, over a matching draped wrap skirt, in a brick loft at dusk.
A blazer and skirt cut from the same burgundy crinkled satin, the kind that looks like it has been slept in on purpose. The blazer is cropped to the waist, double-breasted with two covered buttons, peak lapels, and sleeves ruched along their whole length into a column of ruffles. The skirt sits high and wraps across the front into a soft drape, with a hem that falls to the calf.
A suit, technically, and it works where a suit works, as long as the room is dark enough for the satin to behave. Dinner, drinks, an autumn evening that starts in a loft and moves on somewhere with lower light. The crop shows a line of waist between the two pieces; that is the only break in the colour. Black pointed heel, no tights.
Crinkled satin is a textile that has already given up ironing. We get along.

styling notes
- Wear the two pieces together; apart, the crinkle looks like an accident
- Show a line of waist between them, no more
- Black pointed heel; keep metal off the look
