Indigo one-shoulder mini dress with grey leather panels

The dress is indigo crepe, one-shouldered, with a puffed cap over the covered shoulder and a black leather strap running up to the neck on the other side, so the line is asymmetric from the collarbone down. Panels of pebbled grey leather are set diagonally across the bodice and again across the hip, edged in black, and a black leather strap ties at the waist and hangs to the hem. The skirt is short, pleated at the front, with a flared grey leather underlayer that shows at the hem.

It is a drinks dress: short enough for a high stool, structured enough that the leather does the work while you sit. A pointed black pump or a strappy sandal, no tights while it is warm, small hoops. Spring and autumn, any bar with a brass lamp and a decent pour.

I ordered the whisky because the dress was already blue.
