Cobalt sunray-pleated fan-sleeve dress with a draped skirt
A cobalt crepe dress with sunray-pleated fan sleeves and a draped, front-split skirt, worn with black suede pumps in a grand old coffee house.
A cobalt dress in matte crepe, built in two registers. Above the waist, a high round neck and sleeves pleated in a sunray fan from the shoulder to the elbow, so wide they read as wings when the arms are down. Below, the skirt is draped and gathered at the centre front, wrapping to a split that opens from the knee as she walks and falls to the calf at the sides.
An evening dress for rooms with ceilings: the opera, a gala, a long dinner in a coffee house that has outlived three empires. Black suede pointed pumps and nothing else, because the sleeves have taken all the available attention. Spring and autumn, and winter with a long coat that will have to be carried rather than worn.
The sleeves do not fit through a revolving door. I have tested this.

styling notes
- Nothing on the arms the sleeves can hide anyway
- Pointed pump in black; a coloured shoe would start an argument
- Carry the coat; it will not fit over the sleeves
