Oversized camel wool wrap coat with cognac ankle boots
An oversized brushed-wool camel wrap coat with the sleeves pushed up, over a plain black top, with cognac pointed ankle boots.
An oversized camel wool wrap coat, the kind that is more blanket than tailoring: wide notched lapels, dropped shoulders, long sleeves pushed up to the elbow, no buttons, a self belt left hanging at the sides. The wool is thick and brushed. Underneath, a plain black top with a straight neckline, and on the feet cognac leather ankle boots with a pointed toe, a side zip and a low kitten heel.
It is a cold-weather off-duty look that works because the coat is the only decision. Everything else is black or brown and quiet. Push the sleeves up so the forearms and the watch show, leave the belt open, sit on the floor if the booth is taken.
Eyes closed in a diner at four. Coffee was ordered. Coffee was not the point.
