Cobalt crepe blazer with a pointed hem and navy trousers
A fitted cobalt crepe blazer that drops to a sharp point at the front, over high-waisted navy trousers.
The blazer is fitted through the body and cut longer at the front than at the back, so the hem drops to a point below the hip. It is in a light cobalt crepe with a narrow notch lapel, a single fastening and shaped seams that take it in at the waist. The sleeves are long and pushed back once. The trousers are dark navy, high-waisted, with slanted pockets and a straight leg that skims rather than grips.
Cobalt over navy is the easiest colour-block there is: the dark half does not compete, it just makes the bright half look intentional. Wear it to the office with a pointed flat, or to a late dinner with a heel and the jacket left open. It works for three seasons and only needs a coat for the fourth.
I ordered coffee at eleven at night. The blazer was not tired either.
