Cobalt satin blazer with raw edges and a draped skirt
A cobalt satin blazer left unfinished at the seams, over a draped skirt in the same blue and pointed black ankle boots.
The blazer is cobalt satin with a single button, a wide notched collar that stands away from the neck and seams left raw along the lapels and hem, so the threads catch the light with the fabric. The skirt is the same blue in a crinkled satin, wrapped and draped at the front so the hem rises to the knee on one side and falls lower on the other. Black ankle boots with a pointed toe finish it.
Worn as a suit, the way a suit should be worn when it is this colour: nothing else competing, the hair down, the boots the only black in the look. It works for an afternoon of looking at things you cannot afford, for dinner afterwards, for any autumn day with enough light to see the blue properly. In spring, swap the boots for a pointed flat.
I bought nothing. The magnifying glass was for the blazer's seams, which I already knew were perfect.
