Burgundy satin ruched midi dress with ruffle shoulders

Burgundy satin with a high neck, big ruffled cap shoulders, a ruched side seam and a side slit, worn with cognac ankle boots.

The dress is liquid burgundy satin with a plain high round neck and no sleeves to speak of: the shoulders are two large folded ruffles that stand up and out. Down one side the seam is ruched tight, which pulls the skirt into soft diagonal folds and opens a side slit above the knee. The hem is uneven and falls to mid-calf.

Instead of a heel it goes with cognac leather ankle boots on a block heel, and that is the right call: the brown warms the burgundy and stops it from looking like an evening dress at the wrong hour. Spring and autumn, a booth, a coffee, no rush. A thin black coat over the shoulders if the night gets cold.

The coffee here is terrible. I keep coming back for the lighting.
