Navy cut-out blazer with a rust and ivory satin midi skirt
A fitted navy wool blazer with slashed cut-outs across the chest, buttoned over a rust and ivory colour-block satin skirt and chocolate ankle boots.
A two-button blazer in navy wool, cut close through the waist with a notched lapel and three buttons at the cuff, and then interrupted: two curved slashes on each side of the chest, cut clean into the cloth where a pocket would normally sit, so the jacket opens where it should be closed. Worn buttoned, as the only top layer. The skirt is bias-cut satin in two colours split down the middle, rust on one side and ivory on the other, falling to mid-calf and moving like water when she sits.
Chocolate leather ankle boots with a round toe and a low block heel keep it on the ground. Spring and autumn, a sidewalk table, a coffee that becomes two. The blazer is the whole top half; a scarf or a tank under it would close the cut-outs and lose the point. A trench over the arm for the walk home.
The people at the next table are discussing me. Fair. I would too.
