Navy and rust brocade blazer with rust leather pencil skirt

A navy blazer pieced with rust brocade and black piping, cut open at the waist, over a rust faux-leather pencil skirt.

The blazer starts as plain navy suiting and then gets interrupted. A rust brocade panel takes over the front and the collar, a band of the same brocade crosses the waist, and every edge is finished in thin black piping. Two cut-outs open at the sides of the waist and a narrow slash breaks the shoulder line. Below it, a rust faux-leather pencil skirt to the knee, seamed on the diagonal so it wraps the leg instead of just covering it.

It is a first-coffee outfit that is already dressed for whatever comes after. Counter at nine, meetings in the middle, a late table at the end. Autumn and winter, with a black pointed pump and a structured bag in black or navy. Rust leather and rust brocade keep the two halves talking.

I do not talk before the first coffee. The blazer covers for me.
