Burgundy velvet blazer dress with sculpted puff shoulders

A burgundy velvet blazer dress with high puffed shoulders and a long V, worn with burgundy leather knee boots.

The dress is cut like a long blazer in burgundy velvet: notch lapels, a long V front closed with a single button at the waist, and shoulders gathered up into tall, rounded puffs. The sleeves narrow below the elbow and are pushed back to the forearm. The body is fitted and the hem falls past the knee with a front opening.

Burgundy leather knee boots with a block heel continue the same red to the floor, so velvet and leather meet with no break in colour. It is an autumn and winter dress for dinner or late drinks, worn with the hair loose over one shoulder and very little else.

The marble was cold. The velvet did not care, and neither did I.
