Oversized burgundy tweed blazer with a draped satin skirt
An oversized burgundy boucle tweed blazer with gathered sleeves, worn closed over a draped red satin skirt with a bubble hem.
An oversized blazer in burgundy boucle tweed with wide notched lapels, flap pockets and sleeves that are gathered and rolled at the forearm so they balloon at the elbow. It closes at the waist with a single hidden fastening and nothing is worn under it, which is the whole proportion: a heavy, textured top half over a light bottom. The skirt is red satin, a shade brighter than the tweed, draped and gathered into a bubble hem that lifts above the knee at the front and drops behind.
It is a dinner outfit that survives daylight, shot in a brick courtyard under ivy. Autumn first, then spring; the tweed carries the cold and the satin carries the evening. No tights, a pointed black pump or a black sandal with a thin strap. Small hoops. Let the two reds argue, they are related.
Tweed in a courtyard, satin in a restaurant. Same outfit, same afternoon, no changing room involved.
