Burgundy wool blazer dress with an asymmetric pleated panel
A burgundy wool blazer dress with peak lapels, gathered sleeve heads and a knife-pleated panel that drops off one hip, worn with no tights.
A blazer dress in burgundy wool crepe, double-breasted with peak lapels and a single button hidden in the overlap. The sleeve heads are gathered and pleated so the shoulder stands up, then the sleeve narrows to a long cuff. Flap pockets sit at the hip. From the left hip, a knife-pleated panel is set into the seam and falls longer than the rest, so the hem runs on a diagonal. The length is short. No tights, no bag.
It works as one piece, which is the point of a blazer dress: nothing to match, nothing to tuck. Spring and early autumn, hard sun on old stone, a daytime meeting, a dinner that starts early. Hair down and left to the wind. A pointed pump or a flat sandal, both fine.
One garment, one colour, one decision before coffee. That is my limit.
