Cobalt shantung wrap blazer dress with puff shoulders

A cobalt shantung blazer dress with sculpted puff shoulders and a pleated wrap front, over black opaque tights and platform boots.

The dress is cobalt silk shantung, the slubbed kind that looks textured even from across a room. It is cut like a blazer: notched lapels, a deep wrap neckline, a fitted waist and a skirt pleated into the wrap so it falls to an angled hem above the knee. The shoulders are gathered high into two sculpted puffs and the sleeves are pushed to the forearm, where they hold their creases.

Black opaque tights and black leather platform ankle boots keep it weighted for cold days, and make the blue look brighter by comparison. Wear it from autumn into early spring, for coffee, meetings or a long afternoon, with the hair down and the sleeves pushed up. Add a black coat over the top and the shoulders will still win.

I was looking out of the window to check the weather. The weather was fine. I just liked the angle.
