A flower on the shoulder. Satin, so it stays. A one-shoulder cobalt satin top with a rosette and a single balloon sleeve, over high-waisted trousers blocked in two blues. Pointed heel. No second colour anywhere. I have limits, and this is most of them. Drinks, early evening.
A one-shoulder cobalt satin top with a rosette and a single balloon sleeve, over high-waisted trousers blocked in two blues.
The top is cobalt satin cut on one shoulder, fitted through the body, with a large rosette of folded satin at the shoulder and a single sleeve: structured, pointed at the shoulder like a wing, narrowing to the wrist. The other arm is left sleeveless. The trousers are the same cobalt blocked with a lighter blue in curved panels down the leg, high-waisted with belt loops and a slim straight leg.
Head-to-toe blue is easier than it sounds when the two pieces share one shade and the second blue sits inside it. Hair down over the covered shoulder, a pointed heel or a flat black boot. Spring and autumn, trains with wood panelling, dinners where you arrive by one. Coat over the sleeveless side only, if you must.
One sleeve. The other arm is on leave.
