Blue. Loud blue. Deliberately. A cobalt satin blazer dress, wrapped at the front, knotted at the waist with one side cut away, the drape falling past the hem. No tights, pointed heels. I held a paintbrush for ten minutes and felt very cultured. Wear it to cocktails.
A cobalt satin blazer dress with notched lapels, a wrap front and a side cut-out at the waist, gathered into a draped knot.
A blazer turned into a dress and cut in liquid cobalt satin. Notched lapels, a wrap neckline, long sleeves pushed back to the forearm. At the waist it twists into a knot, opens into a cut-out on one side and falls into a draped panel that runs longer than the hem on the other.
It is a cocktail dress that behaves like tailoring, so it needs very little. No tights and a pointed heel in black or beige, small hoops, hair down and straight. Spring evenings and early autumn, when one layer is still enough. The cut-out shows a little ink, the sleeves show more.
I do not paint. But this blue made me want to stand in front of an easel and look like I could.
