The top is violet taffeta that shifts blue where it folds, draped across the body with an asymmetric neckline that sits high on one shoulder, the cloth gathered at the waist, and two balloon sleeves big enough to have their own weather, narrowing into a long gathered cuff. The skirt is a black and silver damask brocade, high-waisted and pencil-straight to below the knee, with strap cut-outs at the waist and two slashed openings over the leg.

Cocktail clothes for a cold night: the taffeta is crisp enough to hold the sleeve and the brocade heavy enough to keep the skirt still. A pointed black heel, no tights, the hair down.
