Cobalt puff-sleeve jacket with a metallic blue pencil skirt
A cobalt crepe jacket with ruched balloon sleeves over a black mesh top and a crinkled metallic blue pencil skirt with draped side panels.
The jacket is cobalt crepe, cropped at the hip with wide notched lapels, no visible button and sleeves that balloon from the shoulder and ruche down to a tight cuff. Under it, a plain black mesh top with a round neck, tucked in. The skirt is the loud part: a knee-length pencil in crinkled metallic blue, the surface textured like foil, with two draped panels that fall from the hips and hang past the hem on either side.
Two blues, one matte and one metallic, with the mesh as the dark line between them. Dinner, a cocktail hour, an office that does not mind a shine. Autumn through spring; the jacket is warm enough for most of it, and a long black coat covers the rest. Black pointed pump, no platform.
I went in for a pocket watch. The skirt was already louder than the shop.
