Burgundy velvet wrap dress with a stand collar
Burgundy velvet wrapped and tied at the waist, with a high stand collar, gathered puff shoulders and a high-low hem.
A wrap dress in deep burgundy velvet, built like a coat. The collar stands straight up at the back of the neck, the shoulders are gathered into tall puffs, and the sleeves are pushed to the elbow so they ruche on the forearm. A self-tie belt pulls it in at the waist and the skirt drops into a high-low hem, shorter at the front, longer behind.
From the back is the best angle: the collar and shoulders frame the hair and the velvet does the rest under warm corridor light. Autumn and winter, dinner or something with a dress code that nobody enforces. A slim black boot or a pointed pump; anything heavier fights the hem.
Some people check out at noon. I prefer to leave slowly and in velvet.

styling notes
- Push the sleeves up so they ruche on the forearm
- Tie the belt tight; the volume is all at the shoulder
- Slim pointed shoe to keep the high-low hem light
- Hair down the back so the collar frames it
