Burgundy raw-edge satin jacket with a wool mini skirt
A burgundy satin jacket with frayed wool lapels and a draped, knotted front, over a matching wool mini skirt with a raw hem.
A burgundy satin jacket built to look unfinished: brushed wool lapels with frayed edges, a front that drapes and twists into a knot at the waist, sleeves pushed up and ruched to the elbow, and loose panels at the hem that fall in uneven points past the skirt. Underneath, a black top, and a burgundy mini skirt in brushed wool, also left raw at the hem.
Tonal dressing works when the textures disagree, and here satin and wool do nothing but argue. Autumn evenings, a dinner that runs late, a black pointed boot or a plain strappy sandal. Keep everything else quiet and let the hem hang the way it wants. Raw edges are the only kind of chaos I schedule.
