Blush organza puff-sleeve trench over a satin slip dress
A blush organza trench with oversized puff sleeves, worn open over a satin slip dress in a deeper shade of the same pink.
The trench is cut from blush organza, so light passes through the body of the coat and the double-breasted front, the wide lapels and the oversized puff sleeves read as shapes rather than weight. It fastens with two covered buttons at the hip and is left open; the hem is cut in handkerchief points that fall below the knee at the sides. Underneath, a blush satin slip dress with a V neckline, thin straps and a short straight hem in a shade one step deeper than the coat.
Two pinks, two textures, nothing else. The organza is for late spring and summer nights when a coat is a formality: it moves, it does not warm. Shoes stay simple, a thin-strap sandal or a pointed mule, and the hair goes down over the collar so the sleeves keep the stage.
The washers run for forty minutes. The coat does not get wet. That is the whole plan.
