Red satin corset top with a patchwork wrap skirt
A red satin corset top with black leather side panels, over a long wrap skirt pieced from printed and woven panels.
The top is a corset in red satin with a soft cowl neckline, thin straps and black leather panels set into the sides that run down to a pointed hem. The skirt is long and wrapped, pieced from panels that do not match on purpose: a dusty rose basket-weave, a burgundy figured print, a strip of cream and black, a flash of red satin at the hem.
Worn on a balcony at the hour the streetlights come on, with the hair down and loose and the watch as the only hardware. It is a dinner look that would survive the walk there, and a warm evening look that does not need a jacket until October. Flat sandals would make it an afternoon; a heel keeps it where it belongs.
The skirt took three fabrics to agree on anything. I know the feeling.
