Black leather coat with a faux fur collar over a knit dress
Midnight in a marble lobby: a long leather coat with a faux fur collar thrown over a belted knit turtleneck dress and over-the-knee boots.
A long black leather coat, straight and ankle-grazing, with a wide black faux fur collar that sits like a stole across the shoulders. It is worn open and draped, sleeves empty, so the whole weight hangs from the collar. Under it, a sleeveless chunky-knit turtleneck dress in black, ribbed and close to the body, cut to the knee and cinched with a skinny black leather belt on a small silver buckle.
The boots do the rest: black leather, over the knee, pointed toe, slim heel, a short zip at the ankle. Together the three lengths line up: coat to the floor, dress to the knee, boot above the knee, nothing showing between them. This is a winter outfit for hotel lobbies and late dinners, where the coat never comes off because the room is the point.
Fur collar at midnight is not subtle. It is not supposed to be.
