Charcoal double-breasted blazer over a black mesh turtleneck
A charcoal double-breasted blazer on the shoulders, a mesh turtleneck over a black tank, satin wide-leg trousers: lobby tailoring after dark.
The blazer is a charcoal wool double-breasted with peak lapels and six buttons, worn draped over the shoulders rather than on the arms. Under it, a black mesh turtleneck with long sleeves over a black scoop-neck tank, so the mesh shows the sleeve tattoos and nothing else. The trousers are black satin, high-waisted with front pleats, a wide straight leg and a pressed crease that breaks on black pointed pumps.
It is a suit without being a suit: the jacket adds the shoulder, the satin adds the shine and the mesh adds the layer that keeps it from being plain. Wear it for a hotel bar in autumn, a late check-in or a dinner where the room is warmer than the street. Pumps keep the trouser length honest; a block heel would drag.
A jacket on the shoulders means I have no intention of carrying anything.

styling notes
- Jacket on the shoulders, arms free
- Tank under the mesh, always; the mesh is for the tattoos
- Pointed pump so the trouser hem clears the floor
