A sleeveless red dress with a folded bodice, a slash cut-out at the neckline and long draped panels falling to the floor.

A sleeveless red dress in matte crepe, built in folds. The bodice wraps across from one shoulder in a wide pleated band, with a narrow slash cut-out opening below the collarbone and a second cut-out at the waist on the other side. A short fitted underdress sits beneath, and over it two long draped panels fall from the hip to the floor, parting at the front and at the side as she moves.

Late summer into autumn, a white loft with a sunny window and paint on the floor. Black sandals that disappear under the panels, hair straight and down, the sleeve tattoos left to do the rest. It is a gown when she stands still and something else when she walks. Red is loud. I like loud when it is tailored.
