Red taffeta puff-sleeve top with a cobalt pleated skirt

Red and cobalt at nine in the morning, among the stalls. The top is iridescent taffeta, red that goes raspberry where it folds, with an asymmetric draped neckline and two oversized puff sleeves that are built rather than gathered, holding a flat structured edge at the elbow. The skirt is cobalt shantung, high-waisted with a wide band, box-pleated and finished with three folded panels that step down over one hip.

It is a lot of colour for daylight and that is the point. Wear it with a flat pointed shoe to walk the market, a block heel for a daytime event, and a black coat over the top when the weather turns. Spring and autumn, overcast days, places where everyone else wore a fleece.

I do not do colour. This was clearly someone else's decision.
