Burgundy satin and black leather gown with a puff sleeve

The gown is built from two materials cut against each other: burgundy satin and black leather, pieced in sharp diagonal panels across the bodice, the waist and the skirt so the lines never run straight. A high round neck, one short puff sleeve on the right, the left shoulder cut away; the skirt falls to the floor with a side slit where the satin wraps over the leather.

It is an evening gown and it wants a room with lamps: a gallery, a late dinner, a studio with sculptures standing around. Nothing is layered over it, the arms stay free so the puff sleeve sits alone. Autumn and winter. A pointed heel in black, out of sight under the hem.

Half satin, half leather. I could not decide, so I did not.
