Oxblood satin blazer with leather lapels and tweed skirt
An oversized oxblood satin blazer with leather lapels and flap pockets, over a tiered taupe tweed mini skirt.
The blazer is oxblood satin, oversized, with dropped shoulders and sleeves pushed to the elbow, the lapels and the two patch pockets faced in matching oxblood leather with wide flaps. Underneath, a black top shows only at the neckline. The skirt is taupe tweed, a mini cut in three stepped tiers that sit like roof tiles, with a metallic thread in the weave.
Autumn and winter, for a studio day, an office that likes a bit of theatre, or a gallery opening where the art is worse than the clothes. Black opaque tights and a loafer in daylight; a pointed boot after dark. Push the sleeves up and leave the blazer open: the pockets need the room.
I stood in front of the easel long enough to be asked what I thought. I thought the jacket was good.
