Chocolate looks
Chocolate is the dark brown that stands in for black when black has had a long week. Leather, suede, velvet, wool: it takes every texture and makes it look warmer. Dahlia wears it in coats, boots and the occasional dress, and it pairs with camel, bone and burgundy in a way black never quite does. Autumn and winter, daytime into evening, dinners in rooms with wood in them. Never with grey, which turns it muddy.
