A cobalt wool blazer with sculpted shoulders and black leather piping over a cobalt satin wrap skirt with a side slit, coffee in hand in a brick loft.

A cobalt wool blazer with shoulders built up into sharp sculpted points, an asymmetric front that closes on one button and black leather piping along every edge: lapels, hem, pocket welts. Underneath, a cobalt satin wrap skirt draped to the ankle with a side slit, its edge bound in the same black leather so the two pieces read as one.

The whole look is one blue in two finishes, matte wool over liquid satin, and the leather lines keep it sharp. It is an office-to-dinner outfit for autumn and winter: coffee at the window at nine, the same jacket at the table at nine. A black pointed shoe below, no bag bigger than a hand.

Colour is news on me. This one I will allow, because it comes with a hard edge.
