Magenta satin and chiffon dress with black mesh panels
A deconstructed magenta dress: a seamed satin bodice, chiffon flutter sleeves, black mesh at the hips and a handkerchief hem.
A magenta dress built in visible pieces. The bodice is satin, panelled like a corset with raw-edge seams left on the outside, and it opens into a cut-out at one side of the waist. Short chiffon flutter sleeves sit on the shoulders, black mesh panels drop from the waist over the hips, and the skirt is layered chiffon cut into long handkerchief points over a short satin underskirt.
It is a warm-weather evening dress that looks better slightly out of place. A glasshouse gone to seed, dry stems, late sun through dirty glass. Spring or summer, with a strappy black sandal or a pointed pump, and nothing else that shines. The black mesh is the only other colour; keep it that way.
I do not do pink. Magenta is a different argument, and I win it.
