Deconstructed oxblood satin dress with leather trim

An oxblood satin dress draped and torn on purpose, with black leather binding and a leather hip panel, worn in a room that is falling apart too.

An oxblood satin dress built to look unfinished. The bodice is sleeveless with a slashed, draped front and black leather binding along the armholes; a black leather panel is set into the hip where the drape gathers. The skirt is layers of satin pulled up and knotted on one side, raw hems left raw, worn holes left open, long on one side and cut away above the knee on the other.

It is an editorial dress with a short list of places to go. Wear it with a thin black ankle-strap sandal and nothing on top; a biker jacket thrown over it is the only addition that makes sense. Late summer into autumn, an evening that starts in a room with a lamp and ends somewhere darker.

The wallpaper was peeling. We matched.
