Red satin blazer with leather corset belt and tulle skirt
A crimson satin blazer with black leather lapels, cinched by a leather corset belt over a torn tulle skirt. Painted at, not in.
The blazer is crimson satin with a black leather peak lapel and a leather band that runs from the shoulder down the front seam. It is fitted through the waist and finishes in long points at the hip, so the hem reads as a tailcoat more than a jacket. Over it sits a black leather corset belt, wide and shaped, which is what pulls the whole thing into a silhouette.
Below, a black satin overskirt with handkerchief points falls over several layers of sand-coloured tulle, torn at the edges on purpose. Worn with the sleeves pushed to the forearm and nothing much else, it is an evening look for a cold month, the kind that works for a gallery opening or a long dinner where the coat stays on.
The tulle looks like it lost a fight. It did not. I bought it that way, which is the only kind of fight I enter.

styling notes
- Push the sleeves to the forearm so the leather band shows
- Keep the underlayer dark and plain
- Pointed boot or a thin-heeled sandal, nothing chunky
- Smartwatch and bead bracelet are enough
