Emerald satin peplum blazer with a raw-edge wool skirt
An emerald satin blazer with leather lapels and pagoda shoulders, cut to a raw-edged peplum, over a charcoal draped wool skirt and olive wedge boots.
A single-button blazer in emerald satin with black leather panels running down the lapels and under the arms, shoulders built up into sharp pagoda points and the hem cut short into a peplum that is left raw, threads and all. It is fitted hard through the waist and worn closed, on its own. The skirt is charcoal felted wool, draped and knotted at the hip so one side sits above the knee and the other falls in a point to the shin, every edge unfinished.
Olive leather boots with a sculpted heel that is more wedge than heel keep it off the pavement. Autumn and winter nights, a studio after hours, a bar with a neon problem. No bag; the hands are busy. A coat over this would have to be long and black and left open.
I came to paint. The painting is going badly. The jacket is going fine.
