Cobalt one-shoulder satin top with a patchwork denim skirt

A cobalt satin one-shoulder top cinched by a black leather band, over a patchwork skirt of denim and linen with a raw hem.

The top is cobalt satin cut on one shoulder, folded across the chest in overlapping pleats and finished with a wide black leather band at the waist that drops into a pointed hem on one side. Below it, a midi skirt pieced together from denim and linen in four shades of blue and black, the panels stitched edge to edge, split at the front and left raw at the hem.

It is a summer outfit that does not try to be one. The satin keeps it from reading as weekend denim; the patchwork keeps the satin from reading as a wedding. Black watch, bead bracelet, a flat sandal or a low mule, and a morning spent walking a market slowly without buying anything. I touch everything and commit to nothing. It is the same with clothes.
