Leather in the desert. I've heard. A biker jacket pieced from indigo denim and gunmetal leather, zipped to the waist and worn as a top, over a draped denim skirt cut from knee to ankle. Black platform boots. Forty degrees, and I'm still zipping it. Night drive, windows down.

A biker jacket pieced from two materials: dark indigo denim for the body, lapels and peplum, and leather with a gunmetal sheen for the sleeves and one chest panel. The zip runs off-centre, the seams are left raw and fraying, and the waist is cut close before the hem kicks out into uneven points.

The skirt is the same indigo denim, draped rather than sewn flat, with a hem that starts at the knee on one side and falls to the ankle on the other, and a leather panel set into one hip. Black platform boots with a block heel hold up the long side. It is a look for autumn and for spring, for a day with nowhere official to be and a night that finds something anyway.
