Burgundy satin-lapel blazer with a pleated chiffon skirt
An oxblood blazer with satin lapels and a silver sculptural belt, over an asymmetric skirt of pleated chiffon and draped wool, in a sunlit studio.
A single-breasted blazer in burgundy wool crepe with wide satin lapels in a lighter wine, the collar extended into a second, larger lapel that lies over the first. A silver sculptural belt, two curved bars that hook into each other, holds the waist over the jacket. Below, an asymmetric skirt in two parts: knife-pleated burgundy chiffon on one side, a long draped panel of matte wool on the other, the hem dipping to the ankle.
It is daytime formal: an opening, a lunch that turns into drinks, a gallery with good light. Black strappy sandals keep the hem clear of the floor. Autumn and spring, no coat; the jacket is the coat.
I only wear this much burgundy in rooms that are entirely white.

styling notes
- Belt over the jacket, never under
- Strappy sandal so the pleats stay the point
- White walls, nothing else burgundy in the room
