Emerald satin one-shoulder gown with waist cut-outs
A one-shoulder emerald satin gown, draped across the body with the waist cut away on both sides, in an abandoned factory.
An emerald satin gown built on a single shoulder: the bodice gathers into a thick fold at the left shoulder and drapes across the body in soft diagonal pleats, with a short cape panel falling behind the arm. The waist is a plain satin band, and on either side of it the fabric is cut away so the drape and the skirt do not quite meet. The skirt starts in deep pleats at the band and is pulled up into loose folds at the hips before it drops to the floor.
Evening only. The colour is loud enough to carry a room on its own, so nothing else: hair down, small hoops, a thin black sandal under the hem. It wants a warm night, an empty industrial hall or a hotel terrace, and no coat to cover the shoulder.
Green is my concession to colour. I make it once a year and then I deny it.
