Cobalt satin pointed-hem top with a charcoal bubble skirt
A cobalt satin top with an asymmetric neckline and a pointed hem, worn over a voluminous charcoal crinkle-textured bubble skirt in a painter's studio.
The top is cobalt satin with a draped asymmetric neckline that sits higher on one shoulder, cap sleeves and a hem that comes to a sharp point at the front, laid over the skirt rather than tucked. The skirt is the volume: charcoal grey, crinkle-textured with fine diagonal pleats, gathered into a bubble that stands away from the body and drops to mid-calf.
Smooth against crinkled, bright against grey, close against wide. It is a dinner outfit for autumn or spring evenings, and an editorial one for anywhere with a lamp and a bad floor. A sleek pointed heel under the skirt, a cropped jacket over the top when it turns cold. Nothing at the waist; the point of the top already draws the line.
Colour is rare on me. When it shows up, it gets its own lighting.
